Am I the only one who counts in their head while hitting a spin button?
Whether you think that’s strange or not that little trick helped me get more winning spins on Jackpot Party.
I do this whether I’m playing a real one in a casino or a virtual one on an app. It drives my husband nuts because it means I’m not very chatty when we’re playing.
1…2…3…that’s what’s roaming through my mind as I watch the reels go round. Maybe it’s a bit OCD but I like to think it’s driven by the fact that I’m a numbers geek and tend to over-analyze everything.
When I’m doing this I count until I have a winning pay line and then I start back at 1 and count again.
If I find that I’m getting to the number 10 too often that means there’s a lot of losing spins on that slot. This is particularly useful information if I’m low on coins and can’t risk them all on a slot that doesn’t hit as often.
To me, it’s a sign I need to get out of that one and go to a new one.
When I was struggling to keep coins on Jackpot Party I started using this counting strategy but with a bit of a twist.
See, Jackpot Party has a Most Played tab that shows you the slots on which you’ve completed the most spins.
You can view that tab by clicking the heart icon on the left side of your screen:

It’s meant to help you more quickly get to the ones you like best.
Based on my tests the slots in the Most Played tab are shown in order. The slot you’ve spun on the most is first, the one where you’ve had the second most spins is second, and so on.
So many times I’d have nothing but my daily spin plus the hourly coins I’d gathered throughout the day to last for some play time.
That might get me a few million. At a minimum of 48,000 coins per spin that few million doesn’t last very long. Running out of coins is so very frustrating, right?
Intuitively I knew which slots might have the best chance of hitting more often and giving me better payouts so that I might grow that little pile of coins and play longer. Of course, those were the ones showing in my Most Played tab.
It dawned on me, though, that I could combine my little counting thing and the information in the Most Played tab to find out FOR SURE which of the slots I liked the best really did hit the MOST OFTEN.
Some of you are likely to laugh at this suggestion and I get it. Hubby has absolutely no interest in this method at all. He just wants to play what he wants and swear at the app when he runs out of coins.
If you’re serious about building up your coins, though, so that you don’t have to pay the app for more then I really do suggest you give this a try.
Here are the steps:
- Go into the slot you like the best
- Start spinning and count each spin
- If you have a winning pay line before you get to the 10th spin start over at 1 with the next spin and keep counting
- If you get to 10 without a winning pay line then keep counting each spin up to 20
- If you hit a bonus (free spins) at any point then start counting again at 1 after the bonus
- If you get to 20 without a bonus leave that slot and go to your next favorite
- Repeat the counting process above with the next slot (just keep moving from one favorite to the next)
I’ve demonstrated the strategy in the video below.
This little “strategy” keeps you on a slot that has more frequent hits and also keeps you on a slot if it hits a bonus since you start counting all over again after hitting one.
If I’m not hitting very frequently in one slot then the number of completed spins will not grow very fast.
The ones where I have more frequent wins within 10 spins eventually moves its way up towards the front of my Most Played tab.
I now know which ones hit the most often for me and the way I play:

(By the way, El Toreador has horrible bonuses most of the time but great hits outside the bonus.)
You might not like the same slots I do which is why the steps above tell you to play YOUR favorites and not mine. (Who wants to play a slot they don’t like?)
If you play your favorites and you follow these steps the app will eventually show you which of those hit the most often.
When you’re low on coins you can then stick with the ones that hit more regularly and hopefully boost your coins rather than run out.
If you’re brand new to this app now is a good time to start doing these steps as your data will have an impact on the Most Played tab right away.
If you’ve been playing the app for awhile it may take some time before this strategy has an impact on the lineup in that tab.
For example, if you’ve already had over 10,000 spins on the slot that shows first in your Most Played tab and all the other ones in that tab have fewer than 4,000 then it’s going to take awhile before the others gain enough spin count to change their position in that tab.
And, of course, you have no idea how many spins you’ve had on any one of them because Jackpot Party doesn’t show the actual spin count in that tab.
It took me about a two weeks of regular play using this method to see my lineup change in the Most Played tab.
Alternate Option:
An alternative to the approach outlined above is to only start recounting if the winning spin is more than your minimum bet.
Rather than helping you find the slots that hit most frequently this alternative would help you find the ones that hit above the minimum bet most frequently.
I rotate between the two based on which slot I’m playing but, either way, you’ll still end up with those the ones you want at the front of your Most Played tab.
If you use the tips from this post and find you’re landing more winning spins I’d love to know!
